New dressmaker in south central Ohio says she can make dresses for any price
Inverness dressmaker Mary Lincoln said she’s making dresses for anywhere from $20 to $80.
She said she also sells them at thrift stores, thrift shops, on Ebay, and on the Internet.
“I don’t really know what the value is of that stuff, but I think it’s probably worth something,” she said.
Lincoln said she began making dressmaking dresses at her mother’s shop in the 1950s. “
If I’m making a dress for a person and I’m looking to make it for someone else and they like it, I might buy it.”
Lincoln said she began making dressmaking dresses at her mother’s shop in the 1950s.
The work has been carried on by her father since 1973.
Lincoln made the dresses for herself as a teenager, and then her husband and two sons started selling them at events.
Lincoln said it’s a hobby and that she’s happy to work on the craft for an extra paycheck.
The family has been working with Lincoln on the business since 2005.
She’s been making the dresses at the family’s home in Invernesse since 2014.
